The second release from Joey Ryan, released in 2014.
Hotpress - "A powerful slice of folk-rock, testament to Ryan’s adept song-writing and keen knack for melody and tempo. Throughout, his smokey vocals infuse the tracks with a gritty raw power that contrasts with its infectious sweet harmonies."
PRESS RELEASE REDEFINE
Following on from their most successful tour of Ireland yet in March 2014 supporting of their iTunes rock chart topping charity single Stay Strong, Joey Ryan trio (JRT) are proud to release their newest collection of music - Redefine - in conjunction with Silverwood Music label and Kerbute productions.
Recorded in the Meadow studios in Delgany over one day in January 2014 under the watchful eye of Gavin Ralston, Redefine aims to present the band in their live form, with no overdubs or chopped up tracks. This is the JRT in their element - raw and live.
After spending two years recording debut album Morning Will Come Soon (2012), Ryan decided to change direction, embracing his love for rock music which could only be heard in snippets throughout the more acoustic and melancholic MWCS. The Redefine EP - an appropriate name perhaps - sees the songwriter and his band breaking away from any previous association with the singer-songwriter genre, presenting their own version of atmospheric rock music.
The trio consists of drummer Ben Cooper and bassist Paul Dowling, who together with Ryan have been touring and recording throughout 2014.
The entire recording process for Redefine was caught on camera and a video of each song is being released every month online until December through the Silverwood Music Sessions.
JRT will be undertaking a German tour from November 6th to 10th to see out what has been an incredible year of touring, writing and creating. The Redefine EP is available on iTunes from September 26th, and features the bonus studio full length version of March single Stay Strong.
